New stop signs will be added to the intersection of Briggs and Moffat streets on Monday, March 28. This intersection will be a four-way stop requiring a stop condition for traffic from all directions.
For the first two weeks after installation, the new stop signs will have orange flags posted at the top to garner even more attention for drivers. While drivers become accustomed to the new signage, all pedestrians should continue to use extra caution when crossing the street at this location. Make eye contact with drivers and try to gain confirmation that they see you before stepping into the roadway.
Drivers can watch this explanatory video from the Erie Police Department about how to safely navigate four-way stops.
