Moving to End Sexual Assault Presents an Evening to Honor Survivors of Sexual Violence

Boulder’s only sexual violence resource center celebrates its 50-year anniversary during annual fundraising event.

BOULDER, Colo. (August 10, 2022)Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) presents the fundraiser Brave Bold & Beautiful on Thursday, October 20th at 5:30 pm. The 14th annual Brave Bold & Beautiful is MESA’s premier fundraising event to celebrate and honor the journey of survivors and the efforts to end sexual violence. The event will take place at Nissi’s entertainment and event center in Lafayette, Colorado.

This year, MESA is also commemorating its 50th anniversary as the only sexual violence resource center serving Boulder County, Colorado.

“We have accomplished so much in 50 years and there is still more good we can do as the need for community support is greater than ever,” said MESA’s Director, Dr. Janine D’Anniballe. “Brave Bold & Beautiful is an opportunity to support MESA and ensure that we continue serving survivors and teaching the community about consent and healthy relationships.”

The evening’s activities will feature award-winning poet, author, screenwriter and performer Dominique Christina, a silent auction that includes fine art by Jordan Wolfson, Scott Lancashire, Laurent Tschumy and Karen Smith, as well as passes for local venues, gift cards from community retailers, tickets to performances, and more. There is also a can’t-miss wine pull that includes mystery bottles of many wine varieties.

In addition, performances by local actors will embody what it means to be brave, bold, and beautiful, followed by the reading of love letters survivors have written to themselves. Music for the evening will feature inspired harpist Alex Bernat and a Colorado favorite, Rebecca Folsom Band.
