Campaign for Boulder County 1B Thanks Supporters — November 7, 2023, Boulder County, Colorado.
Boulder County Voters passed County Measure 1B to create a sustainable funding stream for affordable housing for the next 15 years. County Commissioner Marta Loachamin, who led the Commissioners’ efforts to secure passage of the measure, said, “We are so grateful to the voters of Boulder County for giving us the funding needed to help make a difference on this critical issue in our community. The Commissioners and county staff will host a community engagement process in 2024 which will help guide the details of how the money will be spent. We look forward to engaging with Boulder County residents, housing experts and community members on this important matter.”
Annmarie Jensen, Chair of the Yes on 1B Campaign, said, “Now the hard work begins to start using these funds to make a difference in the lives of low and moderate income residents and workers in Boulder County. We are so thrilled that the voters have shown support for a positive solution to our housing crisis.”
The repurposed sales and use tax will fund areas of development, affordable and attainable housing and housing support services. 2023 estimated revenue of the .1825% Boulder County tax is $17.4M. These tax funds will go to housing per the tax measure beginning in 2025. Ballot resolution language can be found at BoulderCounty.gov or 2023 Boulder County Ballot Issues & Measures – Boulder County
