NEXT Gallery is excited to present: Leslie Van Stelten  “Urban Nocturne”

An exhibition that opens Friday, May 10th from 5-10pm at Next Gallery 6501 W Colfax Ave Lakewood CO 802145

May 10th-26th 2024

Leslie’s paintings portray the complexities of the human element while framing her subjects in a  symphony of light and darkness, color and saturation. Each piece of work represents an epic  tale of one’s journey in life that inspires and moves the viewer.

Urban Nocturne is a body of work portraying the most enigmatic time of day, the night: a  neon playground where heroes and villains alike immerse themselves in the energy,  reflections and illuminations of the city. The paintings of Urban Nocturne explore how  objects, surfaces, faces and skin tones reflect the artificiality of city night illuminations while  revealing the palpable energy of the individuals who seek out and thrive in the darkness.

NEXT Gallery is excited to present: Terra Marks “Quiet Season”

An exhibition that opens Friday, May 10th from 5-10pm

Quiet Season

After summer blooms turn to seed and fall colors fade to brown before the green comes again,  there is a stillness. Death and dormancy provide a pause before the cycle returns to vibrancy.  “Quiet Season” is a nod to the elements often overlooked and unremembered as they are left to  decay in the snow, wind, and rain. It is a contemplation of the intricacies of this underappreciated time using cyanotype, assemblage, embroidery, and acrylic.

Plantstravaganza Pop-Up
