Erie, CO – Local students have a unique opportunity to enhance their leadership skills, connect with peers, and experience an immersive leadership training program this summer—completely free of charge. The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) and Young RYLA programs, sponsored by Rotary International, are now accepting applications for the 2025 sessions.
Young RYLA is open to current 7th graders, while RYLA is available to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Erie residents are eligible to apply regardless of where they attend school. The application deadline for both programs is March 31, 2025.
About RYLA and Young RYLA
For over 35 years, RYLA has been one of Rotary’s premier youth programs, offering an intensive five-day leadership conference designed to develop teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills. The program includes engaging activities such as group discussions, team-building exercises, guest speakers, and leadership challenges.
Young RYLA (7th Graders)
Two sessions available:
June 22-27, 2025
July 6-11, 2025
Held at YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park, CO
Designed to foster teamwork, confidence, and leadership through interactive learning and outdoor activities.
RYLA (High School Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors)
Session: July 27 – August 1, 2025
Held at YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park, CO
Focuses on leadership development, ethical decision-making, and collaboration, empowering students to become community leaders.
Cost and Application Details
Thanks to the generosity of Rotary Clubs, there is no cost to attend—the full $700 program fee is covered. Participants are only responsible for their own transportation to and from the conference.
Students can apply online at www.rockymountainryla.org. Applications are accepted from February 15 through March 31.
