63rd Street and Jay Road intersection will temporarily close to all travel on May 26

Single-lane closures to follow into mid-June as city repaves road following waterline project

BOULDER, Colo. – The City of Boulder is repaving 63rd Street from Twin Lakes Road to just north of Valmont Road at Boulder Creek. Construction will require a full, 1-day closure of the 63rd Street and Jay Road intersection on Tuesday, May 26, for bicycle and vehicle traffic.

Work is expected to take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Following the full closure, travelers can expect single-lane closures into mid-June. Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions. For updates and detours, visit Cone Zones.

This planned road repaving follows the arrival of warmer nighttime temperatures and the completion of the 63rd Street Waterline Replacement, one of the largest water infrastructure investments in the city’s recent history. The project replaced and upgraded a critical segment of Boulder’s drinking water system to protect public health and safety, improve water distribution resilience, and strengthen drinking water service to the community.
