It’s hard to guess whether or not the spectacle that is the GOP nomination will help or hurt local elections, but for those who simply can’t get enough of politicians comparing and contrasting themselves to one another, the League of Women Voters and the Erie Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidate forum for those running for office in Erie. You probably won’t hear much about contraception or the number of Cadillacs driven by their spouses, but you will most definitely be hearing about topics of more local concern, like oil and gas operations, airport subsidies and business development.

The forum will be held Thursday, March 15 at the Erie High School Auditorium, 3180 WCR 5, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Click on the candidate’s name to be taken to their campaign website.

The race for mayor is between incumbent Joe Wilson and Cheryl Hauger.

Three seats for trustees are being sought by candidates Dan Woog, Alberto (Al) Mezarina, Jonathan Hager, Paul D. Ogg, Janice Moore, Robb James and Larry Aniuk (Aniuk does not have a website).

Stay tuned to YellowScene.com for future information about the race, or subscribe to our Erie feed. Election day is April 3.
