The Whisky Extravaganza, a highly anticipated and high class annual whiskey lovers event, is set to welcome eager and serious whisky enthusiasts [this means you) to The Four Seasons Denver on Friday, April 19 from 7:30 – 10:00 p.m.

Mark your calendars, clean your palates, and pick out some slacks (there’s a dress code, folks, and your denim cargo shorts are a no go).

The Whiskey Extravaganza is dedicated to showcasing the most prestigious whiskies from around the world and will feature over 100 different expressions of the world’s favorite spirit – the water of life, baetha in the original Gaelic – including a selection of local Colorado spirits from The Block Distilling Company, who we love and wrote about before, Lee Spirits, State 38 Distillery, Deerhammer, Talnua Distillery, and more.

According to the TWE website, “since 2000, The Whisky Extravaganza has been fostering a broader and deeper appreciation of whisky and its complexities by connecting consumers and brands through curated experiences.”

In addition to unlimited whisky tastings, the Drams & Bites ticket ($95) provides guests with delicious culinary pairings, a complimentary cigar, and nosing glass – to properly sip & swirl your whisky like a pro. For those looking for the ultimate educational experience, a Connoisseur ticket ($195) provides exclusive access to the event’s educational masterclasses, as well as a special lounge featuring additional high-end whiskies and culinary offerings.

I’ve personally been planning on becoming a certified whiskey expert, so count me in for the masterclasses. “Curated by industry experts from well-established distilleries, our Masterclasses will take a deep dive into whisky distilling, flavor profiles, history, tradition and various brand portfolios in a fun and intimate setting.”

Colorado loves its whiskey, and we love whiskey events. A quick web search turns up dozens of events that just happened, are happening, or are about to happen, all across the state. To be fair, a lot of our whiskey events are a little less learning and a little more libating. We’re there to get more drunk than anything. TWE is one of the few whiskey events where those who care deeply, who learn deeply, and who drink deeply converge.

The Four Seasons is offering event group rates but that deadline is tonight, March 19. Book your stay now. Buy your tickets online today.
