The Colorado Secretary of State has validated signatures for another ballot measure that targets transgender youth and their families.

Colorado voters will decide in the November 2026 election whether to ban transgender youth from playing school sports and whether to strip families of the right to access gender-affirming medical care for their children.

I want to be clear about what this is: these are not Colorado values. These initiatives are a part of a national extremist campaign attempting to limit the rights of trans people and the entire LGBTQ+ community. They are bullying our kids first because they believe it polls well. It’s not right. Our own state legislature has rejected these policies multiple times. Now they’re trying to go around them. It’s up to us to stop them.

What’s on the ballot: Anti-trans extremists have misleadingly named these initiatives to trick voters into supporting them.

“Male and Female Participation in School Sports” would ban transgender youth of any age from playing sports alongside their classmates. This tells trans kids they don’t belong. Research is clear that excluding youth from sports and other group activities causes lasting harm to their mental health and development.

“Prohibit Certain Surgeries on Minors” would override Colorado parents and their children’s doctors by restricting access to gender-affirming care that medical experts recognize as safe and effective. The harm this measure would cause goes far beyond what the title would suggest.

These are attacks on Colorado families. And they’re based on the idea that a few hateful voices should have more say over our children than their own parents and doctors.

We asked yesterday and are asking again for you to help us fight for Colorado families and their rights to make their own decisions for their kids. Are you with us?

Members of the LGBTQ+ community have been used as political punching bags before, but they have gone too far this time by attacking our kids. Together, we will protect the whole community, especially trans youth and their families.

Forward together,
