Historic Denver Landmark Transformed into Immersive Theater for New Production, Crossroads: The Journey of Rebecoming

A theatrical experience inspired by the Emmy® Award-winning documentary Rebecoming Me

DENVER (March 19, 2026) — Next month, one of Denver’s most recognizable historic buildings will be transformed into a living work of theater. On Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 1, the iconic Sports Castle will become a three-floor stage for Crossroads: The Journey of Rebecoming, a bold new theatrical experience that invites audiences to step inside the foster care journey. Guests move through the building, encountering actors, scenes, and characters along the way, witnessing pivotal moments in a story about resilience, identity, and the search for belonging.

Inspired by the Emmy® Award-winning documentary Rebecoming Me, produced by Denver-based event and video production company Better Together Productions, Crossroads expands the film’s themes into a live theatrical experience—shining a light on the realities facing youth navigating the foster care system.

The event is presented by Cobbled Streets, a Denver nonprofit working to ensure youth in foster and kinship care experience a childhood filled with opportunity, belonging, and connection. Proceeds from the production directly support Cobbled Streets’ programs.

Crossroads was developed in collaboration with Jeff Campbell of Denver’s Emancipation Theater Company, known for bold, socially-driven work that invites audiences to engage with complex issues through storytelling. The company’s past productions include Jedidiah Blackstone: Origin Story of an Alter Ego and The Untold Tales from the Darkside of the West and Honorable Disorder.

Created specifically for the Sports Castle, Crossroads is an entirely original production featuring a new script, original musical composition, and a cast assembled exclusively for this experience.

“This production invites people to experience the story rather than simply observe it,” said Campbell. “You move through the world of the characters. You encounter moments up close. It creates a different kind of connection between the audience and the story.”

Crossroads will take place at the Sports Castle on Thursday, April 30, at 5:30 p.m. for a gala-style, fundraising event and then again on Friday, May 1, at 6 p.m. for a public performance. Tickets begin at $45.

The production is made possible through the support of sponsors The Colorado Trust, The Colorado Health Foundation, Second Chances with Christy Belz, True North Connections, and Montare Builders.
