The lineup for this year’s Denver Riot Fest (and Rodeo) has been announced, and it’s absolutely epic.

Arguably more than any other year, the festival offers a balanced and eclectic mix of punk, metal, hip-hop and other alt-genres.

The biggest names on the bill are Modest Mouse, Pixies, Snoop Dogg, Iggy Pop, Tenacious D, Run DMC, and Ice Cube & Special Guests. Cube will be performing NWA’s seminal Straight Outta Compton album, remixed and in it’s entirety. Meanwhile, Snoop will be playing his Doggystyle album start to finish too. (Wasn’t Snoop Dogg going by the name Snoop Lion for a while, and playing reggae? What happened there?)

There’s more rap on the bill too, in the shape of Cypress Hill, De La Soul, and Wu-Tang man GZA. Metal fans can rejoice thanks to the inclusion of Motorhead, thrash veterans Anthrax and Testament, and shock rockers GWAR. And we have a couple of riot grrrl reunions with L7 and Babes in Toyland. Drive Like Jehu and Thrice are also back together and performing.

Got your breath back yet?

Other highlights include old school punks the Damned, funk maestro Bootsy Collins’ Rubber Band, party man Andrew WK, the Reverend Horton Heat, the Vandals and the Alkaline Trio.

Also on the bill are:

Rancid, Flogging Molly, Coheed and Cambria, Explosions in the Sky, Kongos, Cold War Kids, The Airborne Toxic Event, Iration, Yelawolf, Eagles of Death Metal, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, OK Go, Desaparecidos, The Dead Milkmen, Nada Surf, The Lawrence Arms, The Black Lips, The Get Up Kids, American Nightmare, Bayside, Swervedriver, Millencolin, Less Than Jake, The Joy Formidable, Doomtree, Cloud Cult, 7 Seconds, OFF!, Benjamin Booker, Joyce Manor, The White Buffalo, Post Malone with FKI, Jazz Cartier, Teenage Bottlerocket, The Bunny Gang, Speedy Ortiz, PUP, Beach Slang, The Hotelier, Prayers, Fit For Rivals, Direct Hit!, ?????, The Moth & The Flame, Elway, Main Attrakionz, Cayetana, Broadway Calls, White Mystery, Skating Polly. According to the press release, “Outside of the announced bands, this year’s festival will also include a stage dedicated to The Rock-afire Explosion, considered by many to be the greatest animatronic rock band of all time. In the 1980s it was synonymous with ShowBiz Pizza Place restaurants, for which it was specifically designed. Combined with the Hellzapoppin’ Circus Sideshow Revue perform, and attractions include a professional pitmaster BBQ cook-off, mini-golf, a video arcade, mechanical bull, games, a carnival, and more attractions to be announced in the coming weeks, Riot Fest & Rodeo is set to be one of the best event’s in Colorado this year.”
