1873: U.S. District Court Judge Mark Delahay / Charge: Intoxication on the bench / Result: Resigned prior to trial

 

 

1986: U.S. District Court Judge Harry E. Claiborne / Charge: Income Tax Evasion / Result: Guilty, removed from office

 

 

1912: U.S. Commerce Court Associate Judge, Robert Archibald / Charge: Improper business relationship with litigants / Result: Guilty; removed from office, disqualified from future office

 

 

1936: U.S. District Court Judge Halsted Ritter / Charge: Favoritism in the appointment of bankruptcy receivers and practicing law as a sitting judge / Result: Guilty; removed from office

 

 

 

2010: U.S. District Court Judge G. Thomas Porteous, Jr. / Charge: accepting bribes and making false statements under penalty of perjury / Result: guilty; removed from office and disqualified from holding future office
