Shock it to The Curb

Boulderites love their pets, but a simple afternoon walk can quickly turn into a romp through town with Fido in lead and owner in tow.

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley is initiating a No-Choke Challenge. Too many people are using choke, prong and shock collars, they say, to nix the seemingly bad behavior of their rambunctious furry friends. These products have been available for decades, and they seem to do the trick; however, the HSBV believes it is borderline inhumane.

Kick your leash-training collar to the curb and get a humane and suitable alternative: Easier said than done, right? All you have to do is take your choke, prong or shock collar to HSBV and they will exchange it for a free SENSE-ation Harness. Oh, you also have to tell all of your friends about the No-Choke Challenge and how much you love your new, free SENSE-ation Harness.

If you weren’t already sold on the fantastic and easy transition from choke collar to harness, there’s more. By taking your choke, shock or prong collar to the HSBV, you will also receive a coupon good for discounted training classes with the experts.

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley is accepting donations for their No-Choke Challenge. Whether you have a choke collar to trade in or not, you can make a donation to help keep this initiative alive. HSBV has already had 200 choke collar exchanges since the challege started, and their funding is quickly dwindling.
